We
Believe..
Every
thought and word in the original Old and New Testament Scriptures
is inspired by God and without error. The Bible is the infallible
and final authority for faith and practice.
There is
one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit.
The Father
is fully and personally God. He is the absolute sovereign and providential
caretaker of the universe, and the loving Father of all believers
in Christ.
The Lord
Jesus Christ is fully and personally God. He is the eternal Son
of God. Through the incarnation his full deity was forever united
with full humanity in one sinless and perfect person, born of a
virgin. He died for our sins, arose bodily from the dead and ascended
to his Father's right hand where he now serves as our Great High
Priest and the Head of the Church.
The Holy
Spirit is fully and personally God. His mission toward the Church
includes regenerating, indwelling, teaching, empowering, and preserving
believers. His mission toward the world includes convicting people
concerning sin, righteousness and judgment.
Each member
of the human race is sinful and unable to earn God's approval by
any works of his own. Salvation is based upon the finished work
of Christ on the cross and is received by grace through faith, apart
from any virtue or work of man. Salvation, once truly received,
can never be lost.
All believers
should be water baptized as an act of obedience to the Lord and
a testimony of their salvation. Believers should also gratefully
remember Jesus' death on the cross for their sins through participation
in the Lord's Supper.
The Bible
teaches the resurrection of the saved to eternal blessedness and
of the unsaved to eternal punishment.
The soon
return of our Lord Jesus Christ is the believer's blessed hope and
an incentive to
holy living. It will be followed by Christ's millennial kingdom
and the eternal fellowship of believers with the Lord.
